I came to veridianud after a colleague suggested I get my will done properly — I'd been putting it off for years. The initial meeting was much more straightforward than I expected. Harith asked sensible questions about my situation, explained what needed to go into the will and why, and the whole process was completed within three weeks. The executor summary they provided at the end was something I hadn't anticipated — it's exactly what my wife will need when the time comes.

My father passed away in January without a will. I had no idea what the process involved — probate, letters of administration, none of it meant anything to me. Suraya walked me through what needed to happen and in what order, and then just handled it. I received written updates at each stage so I always knew where things stood. It took about seven months in total, which was about what I was told to expect. Having someone manage the bank and land office correspondence directly made a genuine difference to how I was able to cope.

I engaged veridianud for the comprehensive programme after our family business reached a point where the succession question could no longer wait. Christopher spent considerable time understanding how the company was structured and what each family member's role and expectation was. The resulting documentation covered the will, a family trust arrangement, and a written note on succession that we shared with the directors. We are two years into the annual review cycle now, and the review meetings are genuinely useful — not just a formality.

I appreciated that the fee was clear from the beginning and didn't change. My previous experience with legal services had left me nervous about hourly rates, so the fixed engagement fee was reassuring. The will itself was done correctly and thoroughly — I hadn't thought about the guardianship question at all before the meeting, and the advisory discussion there was worth the entire engagement on its own.

We came to veridianud as a couple, both in our early forties, wanting to get everything properly documented. The process covered more than just the wills — we hadn't realised how important the EPF nominations were or that they operate entirely separately from what the will says. That alone changed how we'd set things up. The bureau handled the execution and left us with a clear summary we've kept with the wills. I'd recommend starting earlier than you think you need to.

Acting as executor for my mother's estate was something I had no preparation for. I contacted veridianud within a week of her passing and Suraya was straightforward about what needed to happen and in what sequence. The correspondence with institutions was something I simply couldn't have managed on my own — the land title transfer alone involved several agencies over several months. Having everything documented in writing meant I always knew where things stood, even during the slower periods of the process.

Case Accounts

How engagements have played out

These accounts have been simplified and anonymised, but they reflect the kinds of situations we work with regularly.

The situation

A retired civil servant passed away in Melaka with property held under two separate titles, an EPF balance, and a life insurance policy. He had no will. His adult children were named as beneficiaries on the insurance policy but were unsure whether the property and EPF followed the same arrangement.

What we did

The bureau applied for letters of administration, established the entitlement framework under intestate law, and assembled an asset schedule covering both properties, the EPF balance, and the insurance proceeds. Correspondence with the land office and EPF was handled directly. The children were kept updated throughout by written note at each significant stage.

The outcome

Both properties transferred within nine months. EPF distribution was completed within five months of the initial application. The family received a final written distribution record. The insurance proceeded directly to the named beneficiaries independently of the estate process, which we had explained at the outset.

Timeline: 9 months total

The situation

A couple in their mid-fifties approached the bureau having realised their wills, drafted fifteen years earlier, no longer reflected their circumstances. One child had since married; another had emigrated. They also had a shop lot held in joint names and were uncertain how this interacted with their wills.

What we did

We reviewed the existing wills alongside the joint tenancy arrangement on the shop lot and explained how survivorship operated in that context. New wills were prepared that reflected current family circumstances. EPF nominations for both were reviewed; one needed updating. The engagement included a discussion about their wishes regarding the emigrated child that the original wills had not addressed.

The outcome

Both wills were executed within four weeks. EPF nominations updated. The couple left with a clear understanding of how the shop lot would be handled and what their executors would need to do. They noted that the joint tenancy question had been something neither of them had thought to raise — it had come up naturally in the advisory discussion.

Timeline: 4 weeks

The situation

A business owner with a controlling stake in a manufacturing company, residential and commercial properties in Melaka, and a modest investment portfolio, wanted to put a structure in place that would allow the business to continue operating after his death without a dispute between the family members involved in running it.

What we did

The comprehensive programme covered the will, a discretionary family trust for the investment assets, nominations review across insurance and pension, and a written succession note for the company's directors addressing ownership transfer and management continuity. Annual review meetings have since been used to update the documentation following changes to the company's structure.

The outcome

Initial documentation completed over approximately six weeks. The client described the process as having clarified decisions that had been sitting unaddressed for years. Three annual reviews have since taken place, with updates made to the succession note following the appointment of a new managing director at the company.

Timeline: 6 weeks initial + annual reviews
