A quiet archway representing veridianud's considered approach

Our Practice

Steady hands for matters that shape the long view.

veridianud was founded on the belief that estate planning and probate services should be delivered with the same calm deliberateness that the subject demands. We work quietly and carefully, as the work requires.

Our Story

How veridianud came to be

The bureau took shape in Melaka after its founders spent a number of years observing a recurring difficulty: families who had carefully accumulated assets over a lifetime found themselves — or their executors — navigating probate and estate administration without adequate guidance at a point when clarity was most needed. The paperwork was not the real problem. The real problem was uncertainty about what needed to be done, in what order, and with what institutions.

veridianud was formed to address that. The name itself draws from the idea of something steadily maintained and properly recorded — a bureau in the older sense, a place where important matters are held and worked through with care.

Since opening in Melaka, the practice has worked with individuals drawing up their first wills, executors navigating probate for the first time, and families with multi-generational business interests who needed a coherent structure for what comes next. The engagements are different in scale; the approach is consistent.

Our Mission

What we hold ourselves to

Clarity over complexity

Estate matters involve legal, financial, and family dimensions that can become dense quickly. We make it our responsibility to translate that complexity into language and steps the client can follow.

Written records as a matter of course

We provide written summaries and updates at each stage of an engagement. This is not an optional extra — it is how we work, because the clients who come to us are dealing with matters that may need to be referred back to years later.

Respect for the timeframe

Estate planning is not urgent in the way that commercial transactions are urgent. We do not manufacture pressure. We make ourselves available when the client is ready to proceed.

Confidentiality as standard practice

The matters clients bring to us are personal. Information shared in the course of an engagement is handled with discretion and retained only as necessary for the work.

How We Work

Our professional standards

Malaysian Legal Framework

All engagements are conducted within the framework of Malaysian law — the Wills Act 1959, Probate and Administration Act 1959, and relevant land and financial legislation — with jurisdiction-specific advice tailored to the client's circumstances.

Document Integrity

All documents prepared by the bureau are reviewed for completeness and consistency before being presented to the client for execution. Copies are retained in a secure file for the engagement period.

Client Confidentiality

Information shared in the course of an engagement is handled under strict confidentiality. The bureau does not share client information with third parties except where necessary to carry out the specific instructions given.

Transparent Communication

Clients receive written confirmation of each stage of their engagement — what has been completed, what remains, and what is expected of the client at each step. We do not rely on verbal-only updates.

Fixed-Fee Transparency

Our engagements are priced at fixed, stated fees. Before any work begins, clients are told what the engagement covers and what it costs. There are no billing surprises and no scope for unexpected charges.

Regular Review for Complex Matters

For clients on the comprehensive programme, annual reviews are scheduled to ensure that estate arrangements remain aligned with the family's actual situation. Circumstances change; the documentation should too.

Estate planning and probate practice in Melaka

veridianud operates from Melaka and focuses on three areas of work: will drafting and personal estate advisory, probate and letters of administration, and a comprehensive estate planning programme for families with more involved arrangements. The practice has developed a particular understanding of the way Malaysian families hold and transfer assets — across property, pension funds, life insurance, and in some cases private company interests.

Estate administration in Malaysia requires coordinating with multiple institutions. The High Court Registry processes probate applications. Land offices manage property transfers. EPF and pension providers each have their own procedures for dealing with nominations and estates. Banks require specific documentation before releasing funds. The bureau's probate engagement handles this correspondence directly, so the family does not need to negotiate each institution independently at a time when administrative capacity is often stretched.

For individuals working on their own estates while they are in good health, the bureau's will drafting engagement brings together the will itself with a review of existing nominations on retirement savings and insurance, and where appropriate a discussion of guardianship and trusteeship. The aim is for the client to leave the engagement knowing that the main instruments of their estate are aligned and documented clearly for whoever eventually acts as executor.

The comprehensive programme serves families whose arrangements span generations or cross into business ownership. Here the work extends to trust structuring, business succession considerations, and the annual review meetings that keep a complex arrangement coherent as circumstances evolve. This engagement is designed to be ongoing — not a one-time filing, but a sustained advisory relationship that keeps the family's estate structure in good order.
